September is turning blue to encourage men to face up to cancer

Why blue? It's simple - blue is for boys!

Did you know men are twice as likely as women to  die from cancers that in  many cases can be prevented? Come on guys,  it’s time to face facts and get cancer aware.

Proudly supporting Cancer Council, Blue September aims to  raise awareness about cancers causing  death in Australian men each year. You can reduce your risk of developing these cancers by making better lifestyle choices.

Can we really prevent cancer?

At least one in three cancer cases is preventable. Thousands of lives could be saved by choosing a ‘cancer smart’ lifestyle suc h as quitting smoking, reducing alcohol intake, being SunSmart, regular exercise, a healthy weight and age-appropriate health check-ups.

So let’s face up to cancer in men this September! Show your support by painting your face blue and make a plan of action for a cancer smart lifestyle.

You can help.  And you can do something.
