Acting Prime Minister Julia Gillard showed her support of the Blue September campaign and men facing up to cancer by painting partner and Blue September ambassador Tim Mathieson’s face blue today.

“I’m very happy to support Tim’s involvement in this campaign. Tim’s very serious about raising awareness of men’s health issues and obviously supporting the blue paint and the blue campaign,” said Julia Gillard.

The pair took time out of their busy AFL Grand Final day to help raise awareness of men’s cancer.

“Men’s health is obviously a very important issue, as Tim is campaigning,” said Gillard. “He is saying to people that men don’t form a quick enough relationship with GP’s, they haven’t got an awareness of health issues, and so Tim is very passionate about playing a role in raising that awareness.”
